As fully elaborated in Chapter One of this series, I arrived on this planet "The child of a promise" thanks to my mother who had promised God that she would never again have an abortion. It wasn't a matter of whether abortions were legal or not. This was 1947. In the United States, at that time, all abortions were illegal! Even if it meant a divorce from the husband whom she loved, who had insisted that his wife do again as he had another time demanded mother believed that her promise to "The Almighty" was more binding than the marital promise she had made to "Obey" her husband. I'll also repeat that the name of this series of articles is Mestory History because it is about me, Rascal. Yet it is His, God's, story. All recorded writings and oral traditions involving His created beings on this planet, Earth, are rightfully classified as History. I suspect the person who first coined the word, History, had the revelation of this fact in so selecting this name which is normally used in reference to records involving earlier events, activities, and in the lives of His people here. I am but thankful that my name is recorded in His "Book Of Life." Now in 2006, that same "Supreme Being" has instructed me to write this series of ezine articles to laying the foundation as to by whom and/or what authority I speak. Fortunately, as they did with Moses, my words of introduction come from God by which to establish credibility. He is "The Creator" of all words and the words that He has me use contain within themselves the power to achieve His directive. Joshua 3:7: The LORD told Joshua, "Beginning today I will show the people that you are their leader, and they will know that I am helping you as I helped Moses. Much to my surprise and delight, today's article is not so much about my past life as it is about how and what God is doing in my life today. Yes, it reveals some of my weaknesses, maybe? Yet, it illustrates how well my Maker knows me. Because He knows me, I receive the blessings of another of His awesome promises. This one, the Apostle Paul repeated in the Book of Acts. Acts 3:22: Moses said, "The Lord your God will choose one of your own people to be a prophet, just as he chose me. Listen to everything he tells you." I was driving home after dropping my daughter, Cassiopeia, off late to high school. I started to turn onto the freeway, which is by far the fastest route. The Lord said to "Go Straight." Without questioning why, I proceeded straight ahead. Before long, I saw an attractive barefoot lady cross the busy 4-lane roadway about a half block ahead of me. I was in the right hand lane moving with the traffic. The Lord said, "Go pick her up." She looked pretty good to me, so I didn't even bother to ask, "Why?" Now, making a left turn from where I was, at about 35 MPH, was quite a maneuver. When I pulled to the curb just ahead of where she was walking barefoot on the sidewalk and waited, I was not surprised that she did not offer to get into my car. She was clearly not "That kind" of a lady. She did glance at me and we made eye contact as she continued walking. I pulled my blue Cadillac ahead, coming to a stop again where she would walk by. This time, as she approached, I rolled the passenger side front door window down. Before the lady could get past, I loudly issued an "Excuse me!" "Yes?" she said, in such a way as to let me know that this petite blond-haired, blue-eyed sweetie was not in the habit of getting into strange men's vehicles. Perhaps, like Ted Bundy, I did not appear to be threatening. The skeptical lady finally agreed to get into my automobile and allow me to buy her a cup of coffee and breakfast at McDonalds. We ended up at my apartment, sharing a good bottle of wine and a great deal of conversation. No, we were not intimate. We did become friends. When I returned my new friend to her own apartment that evening, we had discussed our relationship possibilities. I suspected that this lovely female would become a major part of my earth-life. After we exchanged telephone numbers, she got out of my car and it was clear that I was not expected nor wanted to walk her to her door. The person with whom she was involved in a three-year-long-relationship would be waiting. So was her dog. When the lady opened her apartment door, the dog rushed out to greet his master. Then, the excited pooch spied another dog nearby, at the neighboracross-the-way's-door. Her dog attacked! As the sounds of a dogfight erupted, the owner of the second dog dashed from the apartment where he had been visiting to break up the dogfight. I recognized him immediately as someone I knew, Michael. Three weeks before this, I had told The Lord, "I need to find Michael. He will be a wonderful EarthAngel for 'A Rainbow Reminder'. I think that he still lives here in Vancouver. His phone is not listed. I don't know where he lives or he might work. Ive been looking for my friend the last 3 years since I returned to Vancouver, WA. Michael is perfect for this project! Please, have your angels lead me to him." Via this attractive, newfound friend, The Lord had delivered Michael J. Kempf to me. Although I had made overtures to the lady that perhaps we should get together for something more than friendship, her reluctance to break off her existing relationship became clear when she thrice did not come home with me in the next two days when I visited her. When I see my female friend again, it will be strictly in a platonic relationship capacity better known as friendship. I will meet Michael again this morning at McDonalds. He will accompany me home to dig my fishpond and assist me with some other projects.
