Top Tips For Fall & Winter Weddings

Author: Emily Tanner

Getting married is the best thing you'll ever do, no matter what time of the year you tie the knot. However, the date that you set is very important as it helps you decide on a theme for the big day. For instance, if you get married in the Autumn [or the fall] you can go for burnt oranges, golds, chocolates, yellows and reds. These beautiful colors will then be reflected in the autumn wedding favors [or fall wedding favors] that you hand to your guests. The favor boxes may be decorated in autumnal looking flowers or ribbons.

If you choose to have bomboniere, your autumn wedding favor nets may be red, gold, plum, ochre, peach, yellow or brown - or maybe even a combination of these. Fall wedding favors can be decorated with warm colored leaves for a more rustic feel and you could tie this in with your table decorations.

What about your wedding reception tables being scattered with red, gold and brown leaves and finished off with lashings of gold organza ribbon?

Your Autumn wedding favors [or fall wedding favors] could then be put at each place setting with a centrepiece of pine cones, apples, peach roses, seasonal berries such as juniper and finished with ivory and gold trimmings. Heavenly! The fall truly is a magnificent time of year to get married as you can still get lots of sunshine and the temperature can be warm.

If you are going for a winter wedding then your theme will be driven by the low temperatures and icy winds. The bride's dress will probably be finished with a faux fur shrug and the bridesmaids and maids of honor will adorn lots of silver and gold!

Your winter wedding favors will also reflect the festive season and depending on the date of your wedding, you may even choose to have Christmas wedding favors. Wedding reception tables can be dressed with white feathers, ivy, velvet red roses, white pearls and silver sparkles.

Beautiful silver sprinkles [such as snowflakes and hearts] can be scattered across your pure white table linen and each place setting can have a co-ordinating winter wedding favor - perhaps decorated with silver and white feathers. Or, if you are planning on a Christmas theme, your Christmas wedding favors may be in the form of crackers, piled in heaps around the tables for guests to collect.

Alternatively, silver or gold favor boxes could contain edible favors for your guests continuing the Christmas wedding favor theme. Whether you choose to have winter wedding favors or opt for a Christmas theme, your reception tables will look exquisite with the purity of white and silver.

Angelic! Winter weddings are truly magical in every way... especially if it happens to snow!
